Member of the WSAVA Animal Wellness and Welfare Committee

The WSAVA Animal Wellness and Welfare Committee will be welcoming two new members. The committee members work collaboratively with other WSAVA committees and international stakeholders to identify projects and opportunities to promote animal welfare and wellness.

Member roles, responsibilities and expectations include:

  • Attend 1-hour teleconference meetings held every other month
  • Attend annual in-person committee meeting held at WSAVA Congress, minimum 1 day plus travel days
  • Contribute innovative ideas to advance AWWC mission
  • Response to email/electronic communication in timely manner
  • Continuously assess and identify opportunities regarding animal welfare for the AWWC

Term of Office

  • : Estimated time per week 3 to 5 hours
  • : Terms of three years, with the possibility to renew once

Professional Requirements

Desired skill sets and professional requirements:
  • Regional representation: North and South America, Europe or Africa
  • Veterinarian in private/specialty practice
  • Demonstrable interest and experience in animal welfare
  • Additional qualifications in animal welfare or related fields
