Vision, Mission & Objectives

Japanese Board of Veterinary Practitioners (JBVP) was founded in 1998 by a dozen of charter member veterinarians seeking for the peaceful and mentally affluent society based on the human animal bond concept, in which companion animals and their family receive the benefit of modern companion animal medicine practiced by a body of veterinarians armed with advanced scientific knowledge and respect from the society.  To achieve these goals, the action plan was the education of veterinary practitioners, by offering general re-education of graduate veterinarians from all over the country with a definite curriculum that simulates an internship in a large-scale hospital for a year or two. This was our approach to breed generalist veterinarians who share the concept of "common practice". With the introduction of "common practice" in veterinary medicine, practitioners can entrust specialists, secondary institutions or emergency hospitals with their cases. Thus, the veterinary profession as a whole gains complete trust and respect in the society. With these in mind, JBVP started educational activities such as the nationwide Lecture Series from Hokkaido to Okinawa, Regional Conventions in four major cities, and the Annual Meeting in Tokyo.
