Zoe and Käthi take the helm in CE and Leadership and Nomination
Following this year’s World Congress, two of our Committees are under new chairmanship:
Continuing Education (CE)
We thank Professor Jill Maddison for her outstanding contribution to WSAVA CE and welcome Zoe Belshaw as the new Chair of this key Committee. Zoe works at the Centre for Evidence-based Veterinary Medicine at the University of Nottingham, UK, and has been involved with the CE Committee since 2012 as CE Administrator for Europe. More recently, she has delivered WSAVA CE to countries in Africa and elsewhere. She says: “I've really enjoyed working with veterinarians in the countries we support. I've seen at first hand the great work they are doing with many now moving up through our CE categories and starting to organize their own meetings.
“I’m looking forward to my new role and, as a first step, will be reviewing feedback from the CE meetings we’ve run this year. I’ll then be straight onto planning for 2017 as our meeting program kicks off in February!”
Leadership and Nomination Committee (LNC)
We thank David Wadsworth for his long-standing contribution and welcome Käthi Brunner to her new role as Chair of the LNC – the Committee which supports the WSAVA’s HR needs. This Commitee also helps the Executive Board with succession planning and with the identification of candidates for our annual WSAVA Awards.
Käthi runs her own small animal clinic in Munchenstein, Switzerland, and has been Swiss Representative to the WSAVA since 2011. She joined the LNC during World Congress in Auckland in 2012. She says: “The work of the LNC is vital to ensure a strong future for the WSAVA. I’m really looking forward to bringing a fresh perspective and some new approaches to the LNC’s activities and to collaborating with all of the WSAVA’s Committees to further our collective work.”
