Taking a stand on brachycephalic syndrome!
If you have an interest in brachycephalic syndrome, don’t miss the joint DSAVA-FECAVA-WSAVA Panel Discussion on Tuesday 26 September! A panel of worldwide experts including Professor Åke Hedhammar, member of the WSAVA Hereditary Disease Committee; Gudrun Ravetz, President of the BVA and Peter Sandøe, Professor of Ethics and Welfare, will explore the role of the veterinarian in raising awareness of this important welfare issue and in encouraging education and attitudinal change among owners and breeders. The discussion will be chaired by Monique Megens, Senior Vice President of FECAVA. We hope the discussions will encourage our members to work collaboratively with owners and breeders to understand the welfare issues involved and to start to reduce some of the more excessive hereditary traits in dogs and other species. Our expert speakers will also offer practical guidance and support that you can take back to your clinic!
