Regional Member Advocate appointed for Asia!

Published: 6/8/2017

Dr Monchanok (Boom) Vijarnsorn steps up to serve WSAVA members in Asia.

During our Asian Members’ Forum held earlier this year in Singapore we held a poll to determine the Regional Member Advocate (RMA) for Asia. We’re delighted to announce that Dr Monchanok Vijarnsorn, known as Boom to her colleagues, current President of the Veterinary Practitioners’ Association of Thailand and Assistant Professor at Kasetsart University VTH, has now been elected.

Dr Vijarnsorn takes over the Asian RMA position from Dr Takashi Koseki from Japan, to whom we extend thanks for his initial work. Dr Koseki has agreed to continue facilitating engagement among our Japanese member associations in conjunction with Dr Vijarnsorn. Thank you Dr Koseki!

Boom will shortly take her place on the RMA Committee, which enhances communication between our Executive Board and our Member Associations in order to help us drive forward our agenda of enhancing veterinary care around the world.

Individual RMA members are each tasked with helping us to implement our initiatives locally so that veterinarians in their regions derive real and practical benefit. The RMA Committee is chaired by Dr Brook Niemiec.

We congratulate Boom and send her our thanks and good wishes as she steps up to this exciting new role!
