The WSAVA is led by an Executive Board (EB) of volunteer veterinarians. The Board works in partnership with WSAVA CEO, Arpita Bhose, and her team, which is responsible for the implementation of strategies set by the Board. The EB is responsible to the WSAVA Assembly.
The EB currently comprises our President, Vice President, Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer, Congress Liaison Officer and a Board Member responsible for our Latin American members. We are phasing out the roles of Honorary Secretary and Congress Liaison Officer and will replace them with members who increase our regional representation.
The current opening on the EB is for a second Board Member. The position is for a two-year term, starting after #WSAVA2019. As Africa, the Middle East and Europe (specifically Eastern Europe) are currently under-represented on the EB, members from these regions are strongly encouraged to submit a nomination.
Joining the WSAVA EB is a unique opportunity to support the development of companion animal practice around the world so, if you are interested, suitably qualified and want to make a difference, we would love to hear from you!

The closing date for nominations is May 15, 2019.
Emeritus Professor Michael Day joined the WSAVA Executive Board in 2018. He says: “'After 15 years working on four WSAVA committees, it was an honour to be elected to the Executive Board in 2017 and to the position of Honorary Treasurer in 2018.
“It is a privilege to work with such an amazing team of people to guide the direction of our association and continue to provide our membership with the strongest science, education and representation globally.”
