At this year’s WSAVA World Congress, the Singapore Veterinary Association (SVA) will run a new outreach program to help veterinary students and developing associations in South East Asia by asking sponsors and delegates to donate equipment for their use. They are looking for new equipment or equipment that has been used but is still in good condition. Ideal donations are:
- Digital thermometers
- Otoscopes/ ophthalmoscopes
- Electric fur clippers
- Nail clippers
- Urine dipsticks
- Bandage scissors
- General surgery hand instruments (eg scissors, forceps, towel clamps, needle holders, trays)
- Surgical drapes
- Veterinary textbooks (in English)
Other donations will also be considered.
While veterinary techniques, technology, therapeutics and knowledge are continuously advancing worldwide, veterinarians in different countries worldwide do not have equal access to these advancements. The SVA is running this outreach activity to try to bridge this gap and to provide veterinary colleagues across Asia with useful veterinary tools that they may not yet have.
If you have items to donate, listen out for more details on the booth at #wsava2018 at which you can hand them in. Thank you!
