Our latest Position Statement has been co-signed by ten global veterinary associations.
We kicked off our campaign to ensure more equal access to veterinary medicines globally last year with a Position Statement explaining the scale of the problem and its impact on animal welfare. Regulation is a key barrier in accessing medicines so, as the next step in our campaign, we have prepared a second Position Statement, calling for increased regulatory convergence and harmonization. We are delighted that it has also received equally strong support from veterinary colleagues around the world.
WSAVA Past President Dr Walt Ingwersen says: “Position Statements are a key element of our campaign because they unite the profession and demonstrate that our concern is shared by key stakeholders around the world. They also provide the foundation for further collaboration to bring about change."
“In addition to these Position Statements, our Therapeutics Guidelines Group is driving forward a range of other initiatives including the world’s first Essential Medicines list, which we will launch in January 2020. We will keep members posted on progress with the campaign and welcome your comments and input.”
