Vets in developing nations can now access free educational resources from the British Small Animal Veterinary Association’s online library. Vets working and training in countries with limited resources, where conditions are challenging or training is expensive, can now access the BSAVA’s ‘Foundation Collection’, via a partnership with WSAVA, the WSAVA Foundation, and FECAVA.

WSAVA CE Survey

WSAVA CE is one of the most important benefits we provide to our members but, to ensure that we provide appropriate content, we need to ensure that it fits the regulation models of as many of our member associations’ countries as possible. To help us, please complete the short questionnaire below to help us understand the regulatory situation in your country. We will take all the responses we receive into account in planning WSAVA CE going forward.

WSAVA

World Small Animal Veterinary Association

WSAVA's primary purpose is to advance the quality and availability of small animal medicine and surgery, creating a unified standard of care for the benefit of animals and humankind. As “Global Veterinary Community” is our tagline, being a part of WSAVA also creates a space in which we can help each other and to generate a “One global voice” from the veterinary profession to contribute to the world.

New WSAVA Position Statement on Equitable Access to Veterinary Therapeutics for Veterinarians Globally

“Ready access by healthcare professionals to pharmaceuticals (e.g., medicines, anesthetics/analgesics, etc), biologicals (e.g., vaccines, etc), parasiticides, and antiseptics is one of the key pillars of appropriate patient care, whether in human or veterinary medicine. Inequities in availability and access exist between various regions of the world for a variety of reasons. We call upon key stakeholders (regulatory authorities, manufacturers, and healthcare professionals) to seek solutions that would broaden access while maintaining the sanctity of the veterinary-client-patient+/- pharmacist relationship, where warranted.”

This joint position statement stems from an earlier more comprehensive WSAVA statement (in the Resources section) which was developed based on member engagement on this issue.

View Statement

We’re delighted that the following WSAVA members have already endorsed our Position Statement:
