PRESIDENT/REPRESENTATIVE: Members: 112 (Sept 2011) ___________________________________ Veterinary Practitioner’s Association Nepal (VPAN) is a sole scientific professional organization of veterinarians involved in clinical practice in small and large animals and is a sister organization of Nepal Veterinary Association (NVA). VPAN was established on March 11, 2004 with the following objectives: · To establish veterinary clinical service a reputed profession in the society · To empower the professionals with advanced skill and knowledge in clinical practice with the development of new modern diagnostic and treatment facilities, · To alleviate pain and sufferings of diseased animals, enhance animal welfare activities, and help prevent zoonotic diseases as well and · To study and research on clinical practice and extend through continuing education program. 2010-2011 Report of Veterinary Practitioner's Association Nepal (VPAN) USA: Dr Gregg K. Takashima, President, American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) , VPAN Members celebrated the World Veterinary Day, 2011 for the whole last week of April with Nepal Veterinary Association Memebers in Pokhara, a touristic beautiful city with lakes and high snow capped mountains, 200 km far from Kathmandu, capital of Nepal. VPAN members were involved in various programs such as During this year VPAN members participated in different Talk Programs in Veterinary field. The first VPAN meeting was held at the Hotel Himalaya, Kupandol, Kathmandu, on July 3rd - 4th, 2009. The two days technical program saw many young Veterinarians talking about their field experiences and presenting case papers on various topics. The director general of Animal Welfare and Animal Husbandry attended both these seminars and applauds the efforts of VPAN. World Rabies Day - Monday, September 28, 2009 WSAVA's newest Associate Member Nepal is organizing five Rabies vaccinations clinics for stray and owned cats and dogs in the Chitwan district under the theme "Make Nepal Rabies Free." The even is being cosponsored by the Nepal Veterinary Association, Chitwan Chapter; the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, IAAS, Rampur; District Livestock Service Office; Bharatpur Municipality; Lions Club of Chitwan Central; and the District Development Committee. |
