Continuing Education Program
• 26th June 2010 – Ultrasound Workshop - Speaker Dr. Heng Hock Gan – USA. Intermediate Level on Ultrasound.
• 25th to 26th September – MSAVA AGM and 20th Scientific Conference. A total of 9 speakers who presented 13 topics. WSAVA through its Continuing Education Program sponsored Dr. David Clarke for Introduction to Dentistry in the Companion Animals. MSAVA Activities For 2011
• 20th March 2011 – Gastrointestinal Surgical Techniques in Companion Animals. The speaker was Dr. Tarun Kumar Gahlot – Head of the Department of Radiology and Surgery – from College of Veterinary Science and Animal Studies – Bikaner India.
• 11th May 2011 – Managing Chronic Kidney Disease & Practice Management Series 1, 2 and 3. The speaker was Dr. Darcy Shaw DVM, MVSc, MBA & DACVIM. The speaker was sponsored by regional Hill’s office and Pet’s Corner Sdn. Bhd.
• 21st May 2011 - Urinary bladder surgery in dogs and cats -an up date, Use of Hybrid fixator for fracture management in dogs & Wound healing enhancer and its role in wound management. The speaker is Prof. Dr. S. Thilagar PhD, FISVS Professor of Surgery, Controller of Examinations, TANUVAS, Chennai – INDIA • 11th June 2011 – Dental Workshop Part 1. Speaker – Dr. David Clarke. Sponsored by WSAVA through its Continuing Education Program. iM3 provided the dental equipment and the Department of Veterinary Services provided the venue for the workshop. • 16th to 18th September 2011 – 21st Annual General Meeting, national Scientific Conference & Soft Tissue Surgery - Part 2 (Abdominal ) Location MIECC - Kuala Lumpur. Total of 16 papers to be presented.
General
• Veterinary Nursing course going on very well in Malaysia with the online assistance of AIRC / Provet Australia.
• Implementation of Pet Passport in Malaysia by the Government with a Centralised data base for all Companion Animals.
• CPD point system to be implemented for the renewal of APC for Veterinarians. The current line up will see changes in September 2011 when we have our AGM and Election for office bearers for the new term 2011 – 14. The Presidency will change.

• Royal Canin sponsored 3 seminar which were held at Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh and Johore from the 24th June to 26th 2009. The Topic was Urinary problems in Cats
• 26th and 27th September 2009 – MSAVA held its 19th Annual General Meeting. A total of 10 papers were presented by local and international speakers.
• 13th Dec 2009 – “Exotic Pet Diseases” seminar conducted by MSAVA – Speakers Dr. Jalila Abu DVM, MSc, PhD & Assoc. Prof. Dr. S. Vellayan KMN, PJK,BVSc,MS,CBiol,MlBiol,FNSM,FMSA&FVAM
• The President was invited to the FSAVA seminar at Thailand he was accompanied by the President – Elect who is the MSAVA representative for FASAVA.

• 20th & 21st March Soft Tissue Wetlab – organized by MSAVA speaker is Dr. Kim Smith DVM, MACVSc & FACVSc
• 1st April – Neurology seminar – organized by MSAVA, speaker is – Dr. Joe Kornegay.
• To be confirmed Ultrasound Seminar Intermediate level – in May 2010 – Speaker Dr. Heng Hok Gun
• To be confirmed Endoscopy. Speaker - Dr Todd Tams from USA – WSAVA sponsored
• 24th to 26th September – MSAVA AGM and 20th Scientific Conference. General
• MSAVA has signed an MOU with Evolutis Sdn. Bhd. for the promotion of Pet Insurance in Malaysia through its members. The principle Insurance Company is Kurnia Insurance Sdn. Bhd. MSAVA members will play the role of Vetcare Service Providers.
• Department of Veterinary Services, MAHNIA & MSAVA jointly working for the publication of the Malaysian Veterinary Drug Index.
• Dialogue with ProVet Australia for the Introduction of Veterinary Nursing Course in Malaysia.
