This has resulted in formation of one platform to represent as a one large group of Small Animal Practitioners from India, named as of Federation of Small Animal Practitioners of Association of India (FSAPAI). WSAVA Representatives Report 2010-2011: Since last general body of PPAM, activity of Indian federation has restricted itself to WSAVA CE program, which was conducted in Chennai and our speakers were Dr. Catriona Macphil (We speak on Surgical Corrections in respect to Gastrointestinal and Urinary tract system) Dr. Michael Lappin (Medical ways of correcting diseases of GI and Urinary system) Total Number of Participants Registered= 178 Total Number of Delegates Present= 175 Number of CE Response Form Retrieved= 161 Conference Attended by Veterinarians, University Teachers, PG students & Commercial Representatives Overall Response on Topics Was Very Good Quality of Presentation Was Remarkable and appreciated by All Rating on Discussions was Very Good Over all Technical level of Presentation and Topics selected were very Good Response form suggested Conference of two days on Saturday & Sunday was preferred Topic for future WSAVA CE conference: Workshops or Wet Labs for hands on experience on Dermatology, Orthopedics Internal Medicine Emergency and Critical Care Cardiology Fluid Management We, member associations of FSAPAI, had general assembly meeting at the conference venue in Chennai and meeting attended by representatives of PPAM, SAPAC, SAVA, SACA, PPAT, PPAK and members of Ahmadabad and Goa veterinary practitioners body. Indian Federation named of Small animal Practitioners of Association of India (FSAPAI) Have 7 regional associations: 775 Pet Practitioners Association of Mumbai (PPAM): 250 Small Animal Practitioners Association of Chennai (SAPAC) 180 It was a great pleasure to inform you that Federation of Small animal Practitioners of Association of India (FSAPAI) was officially held is first WSAVA CE Program in India last year on 28th and 29th November 2010. Indian federation, formed on 20th August 2005 in the meeting held in Chennai during the WSAVA Continuing Education Program under the Chairmanship of WSAVA observer Dr. Roger Clarke. This meeting was organized by Pet Practitioners Association of Mumbai (PPAM. From 2005, it’s been our constant effort to get the representation of small animal Practitioners from all the states and regions of India. After meeting for 9 times in last 4 ½ years the legal status of the Indian federation has been endorsed by 7 different state associations of Practicing Veterinarians as well as the Constitution and has applied for its registration to the Government of India. At present, Federation of Small animal Practitioners of Association of India (FSAPAI) is group of PPAM, SAPAC, SAVA Delhi, Pet Practitioners Association from Hyderabad, Karnataka (PPAT and PPAK respectively). And Small Animal Clinicians Association (SACA) Chandigarh, Seven different states had joined Indian Indian Federation has organized its first WSAVA CE program this year in November 2009 with Professor Dr. Michael Day, UK with topic of Seminar is Vaccinology and WSAVA Vaccine Guidelines. During the year 2009-10, several events were organized by the member associations of Indian federation at their respective HQ places. We are in process of compiling all CE program held at various places and soon come out with small informative booklet. We, the Executive Council of Indian federation remain indebted to WSAVA and its Sponsors, Bayer, Hills and Intervet for its support to the Continuing Education program in India. For the year 2010, it has been finalized on 4-5th December 2010 with Dr. Michael Lappin and his wife Dr. Catriona MacPhil, who graciously agreed to be guest speaker for WSAVA FSAPAI 2nd CE in Chennai, India.
